The system was built around a close observation of how Indian households actually function. The multi-generational home, where grandparents, parents, and children share the same space with entirely different relationships with technology, demanded something intuitive enough to work for all of them without instruction or adjustment. That understanding of the Indian home, its scale, its rhythms, its hospitality, is baked into how KEUS works. It also turns out to be an understanding that travels. The brand is finding its audience beyond India, among homeowners who expect the same precision and design intelligence from their home systems as they do from the architecture around them.

Where the System Comes From

Brijesh Chandwani and Subram Kapoor founded KEUS after building Beam Fiber into India’s fourth-largest internet service provider. Brijesh brought a conviction that a home automation system only holds together if every layer is owned in-house, nothing outsourced, nothing patched together after the fact. Subram brought a sensitivity to technology done beautifully, and a particular seriousness about light as a design material. They were joined by four engineers from the Indian Institutes of Technology, who built the technology and product from the ground up.

 Together, the six co-founders set out to build something that had not existed in India before, a fully integrated home automation and architectural lighting company, conceived and delivered entirely in-house. KEUS has since raised 100 crore rupees in Series B funding, led by OAKS Asset Management, reflecting the market’s receptiveness to what the brand has built.

Ardeo by KEUS

Running alongside the automation system is Ardeo by KEUS, the company’s in-house architectural lighting brand. Ardeo was born because every home the KEUS team built raised the same question: Who is thinking about the light with the same seriousness as the automation? After a strong product development phase, Ardeo was launched at Design Democracy 2023. Where KEUS governs how a home lives, Ardeo governs how it is lit. For architects and designers specifying both at the brief stage, having the two developed by the same team removes a layer of coordination that would otherwise fall between disciplines.

Present Across India, Beginning to Reach Further

Over 4,000 homes across India currently run on KEUS. Experience centres operate in Hyderabad’s Financial District, Bengaluru on Lavelle Road, and Worli in Mumbai, with an experience lounge in GK II, New Delhi, and a full flagship there in the works. Each space was designed in collaboration with architects and interior designers and functions as a working home rather than a showroom, giving the design community a genuine encounter with the system before specifying it. The brand’s business presence now extends across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Baroda, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, and Indore.

What KEUS has built is not simply a smarter home. It is a more considered one, where the technology serves the life being lived inside it rather than drawing attention to itself.
