Sussanne Khan began her design journey with an Associate Art Degree in Interior Design from Brooks College, California 1995. Her signature style, blending industrial masculinity with feminine shabby chic, has shaped India’s design landscape.

In 2011, she launched The Charcoal Project, India’s first avant-garde design concept store, revolutionising interiors. The brand’s second gallery, a 35,000 sq. ft. space in Hyderabad, continues her legacy of bold, story-driven design.

Collaborating with top real estate developers like Oberoi, Lodha, and Rustomjee, she has crafted high-concept residences, villas, and commercial spaces. In 2015, she joined YOO, an international design firm co-founded by Philippe Starck, as Creative Director, weaving art and architecture into innovative narratives.

Over the years, Sussanne has been recognised with several accolades: named Asia’s Most Influential Designer by DOTY, listed in Architectural Digest’s Top 100 Designers for four consecutive years, awarded Trendsetter for Home Spaces by ET Panache, and honoured for Best Furniture Collection by Good Homes. She was also recognised as the fastest-growing leader and Brand by Asia One Magazine. She lives by a powerful philosophy: “Through the journey of life, dare to dream the impossible.”
